The Little Shepherd and the Wolves
In a village, there lived a young shepherd who worked for a wealthy merchant. His task was to take care of his master’s sheep and seek help from the villagers if wolves approached the flock.
Bored with his routine of shepherding, the young shepherd suddenly cried out, “Help! There’s a wolf here!” Instantly, the villagers rushed to his aid, but they were annoyed to discover that the young shepherd was only joking.
Delighted with the villagers’ reaction, the young shepherd continued to deceive them by claiming that wolves were approaching. Until one evening, a pack of wolves actually approached the sheep and the young shepherd.
Terrified, the young shepherd cried out for help, but no villager responded because they no longer believed him.
In the end, the young shepherd regretted his actions and never repeated them again.
