Master English Conversation : Introduction

In English conversation, an introduction is the initial interaction between two or more individuals where they exchange basic information about themselves. It serves the purpose of getting acquainted with one another and creating a foundation for further communication.
When introducing oneself in an English conversation, it is customary to start with a greeting such as “Hello” or “Hi.” Following the greeting, individuals typically share their names by saying, for example, “My name is [Name].” It is common to ask for the other person’s name as well by saying, “And you?” or “What’s your name?”

After exchanging names, people often proceed to provide additional information about themselves, such as their occupation, nationality, or current location. For instance, one might say, “I’m a student,” “I’m from Canada,” or “I’m currently living in London.” This allows the conversation to move beyond mere introductions and helps establish common ground or topics for further discussion.

In English conversation, it is important to be polite and attentive when introducing oneself. It is customary to make eye contact, smile, and use a friendly tone of voice. Active listening and responding to the other person’s introduction are also crucial for maintaining a positive and engaging conversation.

Remember that in English conversation, introductions are just the beginning. They pave the way for building connections and developing meaningful interactions with others.
