Singular and Plural Nouns

Singular Noun

Singular means one and talks about only one person, place, thing or animal.
For a singular noun we don’t need to add any letters at the end.

For Examples : girl, flower, lunch, bus, house, glass.

Plural Nouns

Plural means many and talks about more than one person, place,  thing or animal.
We add s or es at the end of plural nouns.

When writing plural nouns we usually put the letter s at the end of a singular noun to make it plural.

For Examples :

cat will become cats, coin will be coins and pizza will be pizzas.

However when a singular noun ends with the letters s, ss, sh, ch, x or z we add the letters es at the end

For Examples :

church will become churches bush will be bushes and class will become classes
